Chris Variava Alfa Romeo Kicks Off New Sponsorship - 08/10/2009
To celebrate the dynamic and sporty new Alfa MiTo, Chris Variava Alfa Romeo in Basford is proud to become the official sponsor of the Skegby Colts Football Club under 11's team, situated at Calladine Park in Sutton in Ashfield.
Chris Variava will become the official team sponsor, providing funding and equipment until the end of the 2009/2010 season in May.
Owen Skinner, 10, the son of Phil Skinner, Customer Care Manager at Chris Variava Alfa Romeo, is a current member of the team.
Mr Skinner said: "Everyone here is excited about sponsoring a local team and we are looking ahead to another successful season for the club. The dealership is committed to supporting and advancing local community sport, and we’ll be behind the Skegby Colts with every kick of the ball."
Last season the team were unbeaten in open play and were the winners of the Mansfield Chad Youth League as well as the Benevolent Cup, the final of which was played at the Impact Arena, the home of Alfreton Town Football Club.
Club manager and coach, Mark Bower, said: "We’re very grateful to the dealership for their generosity. We’re looking forward to the new season with much optimism and the team is hoping to continue with their good form to achieve the same great results as last season."
The Skegby Colts will be playing their next game, at home at against Teversal F.C, on Saturday 12th October.
