Accessibility

Chris Variava have taken reasonable steps to ensure that this website is accessible to as wide an audience as possible within the brand constraints of Alfa Romeo UK.

DESIGN

Where possible the WAI - Web Accessibility Initiative Web Accessibility guidelines have been followed in the design of this website.

All pages on this website are designed to be XHTML compliant and should validate with the W3C - World Wide Web Consortium standards. XHTML stands for Extensible Hypertext Markup Language.

All pages use Cascading Style Sheets and are designed to be viewable without the applied styles. Each page uses structured semantic layout with headings used correctly.

NAVIGATION

This website uses navigation in a clear and consistent manner. There is a comprehensive menu at the top of every page including links to the home page. Every page has a 'skip to content' link that is invisible in graphical browsers.

Most links are written to make sense out of context. The few that are not include further details in the title attribute. This is also the case where the link is set to open in an external window, here used only where the link is to an external site.

To aid navigation further a comprehensive sitemap is provided, for which there is a link at the top right of every page.

CONTENT

Where images have been used, they are given high contrast to aid visibility and text alternatives are given for those who cannot (or choose not to) view them.

Where rich media, such as Flash, is used, a text and image alternative is given for those who cannot or choose not to view it. You can download Flash for free from Adobe here.

Where text is used, it is broken up into manageable chunks and limited in width to reduce line length and hence readability.

Where the website makes use of external content, sometimes it is not possible for Chris Variava to have any control over the accessiblity or usability of the content.

The BBC have a very good online resource called My Web, My Way for help on configuring your computer to get the most accessible experience.

FEEDBACK

Accessibility is an ongoing process of which user feedback is an important part. If you find part of the site difficult to use for any reason, please contact us.
