Alfa 4C
Concept
The 4C Concept was born from ideas, ideas born from dreams... and from those dreams came a unique design and an outstanding experience. The Concept Car is the fruit of inspiration, intuition and conceptual research. And from there, form the desire to create something new and to experiment which is so typical of the Brand, came the 4C Concept, a new challenge signed Alfa Romeo.
The latest creation from the historic Brand, the Alfa Romeo 4C Concept combines performance, Italian style and technical excellence to create unique emotions both on the road and on the racetrack.
Designed using experience gained from the 8C Competizione and Spider, the 4C Concept shares with the exclusive supercars the technology, such as the Alfa DNA system, a 1750 Turbo Petrol engine and a TCT transmission.
Agile and compact, these are the essential characteristics of the Concept Car which , thanks to its limited weight, achieved through extensive use of carbon, guarantees exceptional speed and extraordinary strength. A vehicle that screams Alfa, with its sports soul which creates unique driving sensations.
The Alfa Romeo 4C also brings a new colour, “Lava Red”, a natural combination of black and red, deep and vibrant at the same time.

Architecture and Design
The 4C Concept is based on the rear-wheel drive coupe formula: two seater, approximately 4 metres in length and a wheelbase of less than 2.4 metres. The 4C Concept relishes in its compactness and agility.
The design, by the Alfa Romeo Style Centre, takes characteristics and traits from the Brand’s most famous vehicles to create an elegant shape, which offers power and agility on the road.
The 4C’s style confirms its mechanical set up (the engine is connected transversely and centrally) offering a blend of two key volumes: the rear offers strength and deeply characteristic structures, and the front is composed of two long muscles which form both the front mudguards and the “V” on the bonnet, terminating with the traditional badge. The meeting point between these two volumes occurs with the side air vents on the side panel.
With the Alfa Romeo 4C Concept, the new “Lava Red” colour also makes its debut. An anodised, soft touch red from a paint that creates depth and power. The colour “moves” on the vehicles curves, from splashes of fire red to a deep black, like burning metal which has just been forged, and, thanks to the soft touch effect, the colour is desirable and precious.
With its limited weight (less than 850kg), the prototype is extremely light. Extensive research has allowed the Alfa Romeo 4C Concept to achieve a significant reduction in weight which creates agility and drivability on the most challenging roads.
Carbon fibre is the key element around which all of the performance characteristics have been built: in particular, the chassis supports a body crafted completely from carbon, inside which there is space for the driver and passenger, while the rear frame structure and the crash boxes comprise extensively of aluminium. The result: exceptional agility with a weight/power ratio of less than 4kg/HP.
Strength, power and agility are further increased by the use of an advanced architecture: the rear – wheel drive and the specific weight distribution (40% on the front axle and 60% on the rear), ensure that the vehicle behaves outstandingly on the road.
The Alfa Romeo 4C Concept is also equipped with a sophisticated suspension system which has been designed to guarantee maximum agility and road control: “high quadrilateral” at the front and MacPherson at the rear.
Performance and Technology
The 4C Concept offers optimum performance, thanks to the significant reductions in weight over its entire structure.
On this supercar, technology derived from the 8C integrates and interacts with technology from Alfa Romeo’s “everyday” models.
The prototype, equipped with the powerful “4 cylinder” 1750cc engine offering over 200 HP, combined with the new “Alfa TCT” system, the latest generation automatic twin dry clutch transmission, can reach a top speed of over 150 mph and accelerate from 0-62 mph in under 5 seconds.
