From the company’s humble ‘Cucciolo’ bike of 1946 to today’s 200+mph Moto GP Desmosedici has been a long journey, and Ducati has steadfastly taken its own route to the top. The company made the desmodromic valve system its speciality, winning the Imola 200 in 1972 with Paul Smart on a desmo V-twin Ducati 750. Since then Ducati has claimed 14 World Superbike Championships and in 2007 surpassed even that achievement, winning the Moto GP World Championship with Casey Stoner. Today, enthusiasts throughout the world recognise Ducati as the pinnacle of high-performance on two wheels.
